Heidelberg, Germany By 2020, the Moroccan Government will invest euro 8 billion into renewable energies. In addition, the German Government supports the so called solarplan with more than euro 43 million. Against this backdrop the National Federation of Electricity & Electronics, Fenelec, in close cooperation with the trade fair specialists fairtrade from Heidelberg, Germany, organises the exhibition EneR Event for the first time. The International Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Trade Fair is scheduled for 22 - 26 November 2011 at the International Fairgrounds of Casablanca, Morocco.
As the first Arab country, Morocco has presented a bill for the promotion of renewable energies and energy efficiency to the council of ministers. In addition to boost the amount of renewable energies related to total energy consumption, energy efficiency in public buildings, in industry and in public transport shall be improved. Last year, an energy plan has been announced with investments into renewable energies of euro 8 billion. This as well includes the installation of new sun collectors for hot water generation. According to this blueprint, 400,000 sqm of sun collectors shall supply around 150,000 households with energy locally in the country side.
Within the framework of bilateral development cooperation the German Government is going to support the expansion of renewable energies. Over the next few years there should be invested more than euro 43 million into specific projects to implement the national solarplan.
The 1st EneR Event is going to be held concurrently with the 6th elec expo. 113 exhibitors from 6 countries had participated at the past elec expo in 2009, among them such notable companies as ABB, Cableries du Maroc, Cegelec, Centrelec, Eaton, Elecmar, Ingelec, Nexans, Omicron, ONE-Office National de l'Electricité, Philips, Schneider Electric, Schiele and Siemens. Official partner to the event had been ONE-Office National de l'Electricité, the public electricity provider.
EneR Event and elec expo 2011 enjoy the official support of the Moroccan Ministry of Energy and Mines, Water and Environment, of the Ministry of Industry, Trade and New Technologies and of the Ministry of Foreign Trade.
